THE PRESSURE OF SUCCESS
More projects. Less time to design.
Drawings, revisions, technical decisions and deadlines all compete for your attention.
I take responsibility for agreed modelling, drawings and technical development, helping projects move forward without losing the quality or intent of your design.
EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE DRAWINGS
Vectorworks is the tool. Experienced judgement makes the difference.
The real value lies in knowing what to draw, what to question and what needs to be resolved before a project moves forward.
You set the design direction. I take responsibility for developing the agreed models, drawings and visualisations… producing clear, coordinated project information that you can use with confidence.
When the detail is missing, somebody else has to decide.
The design may be clear in your mind and compelling to the client. But construction requires another level of information.
When levels, junctions, materials and other details remain unresolved, decisions are pushed downstream… often to people working under pressure and without the full design picture.
This leads to:
- urgent questions
- repeated explanations
- contractors interpreting the design
- late changes
- additional work that is difficult to charge for
- the finished garden gradually moving away from the original intention
Clear, coordinated technical information does more than prevent mistakes. It protects your design intent and helps you retain control of the value you created.
What it is
This is experienced, flexible capability built around the needs of your studio and its live projects.
You retain the creative direction and client relationship. I take responsibility for the agreed modelling, drawings, visualisation and technical development.
That means:
- understanding your design intent before work begins
- working within your drawing standards and preferred methods
- identifying missing information rather than making silent assumptions
- raising practical questions while decisions are still manageable
- delivering agreed work completely and when promised
- treating your projects and business as confidential
You gain additional capability without employing—or having to manage—another member of staff.
When it helps
Support is most valuable when the quality of the work is not the problem—but the available time and technical capacity are no longer keeping pace.
It can help when:
- several projects need to move forward at the same time
- a design needs developing into an accurate 3D model
- survey information and levels need careful interpretation
- drawings or revisions are approaching a fixed deadline
- clients or contractors need clearer project information
- you want to accept more work without immediately employing
Support normally begins with one live project. We agree what needs to be delivered, when it is needed and how the work should fit with your studio.
This gives us both an opportunity to understand how we work together before considering anything longer term.
Built for today’s project… and tomorrow’s studio
The immediate priority is to produce the models, drawings and visualisations your current project needs.
But how that information is structured matters. Consistent Vectorworks models can support reusable details, coordinated schedules, quantities, material information and informed comparisons of environmental impact.
Over time, each project can strengthen the way the next one is delivered—without imposing a complicated new system on your studio.
The aim is simple:
Make today’s project easier to deliver while quietly building a stronger foundation for the next.
About IVL
I’m Tony Wilson. I have spent more than four decades working across design, manufacturing, construction, digital modelling and business systems—turning ideas into work that can be made and delivered.
That experience has taught me to look beyond how something appears. I consider how the parts fit together, what information is missing and which decisions need to be resolved before they create problems.
Inspire Virtual Landscapes brings that thinking to garden design. I work closely and discreetly alongside designers, understanding what they want to achieve and providing the practical and technical capability needed to deliver it.
Your design remains yours. My role is to add experienced capability around it so that you can deliver more without lowering your standards.
Frequently asked questions:
I can take responsibility for agreed areas of Vectorworks modelling, technical drawings, visualisation and project development—giving you more capacity without losing control of the design.
Ideally, once the design direction is established but before unresolved details begin holding up drawings, presentations or construction.
I can also step into an existing project when workload or deadlines are becoming difficult to manage.
Yes. You remain the designer and set the creative direction.
My role is to develop, question and communicate the detail needed to help your design reach the ground as intended.
No. We start with whatever already exists—surveys, sketches, mood boards, plans, models or written notes.
I will identify anything that needs clarification before beginning the agreed work.
Discretion is integral to the way I work. Your project information, methods and customer relationships remain confidential, and nothing is shared or discussed without your permission.
That depends on the project, its stage and the support required.
Once I have seen the available information, I will define the work, deliverables and cost clearly before anything begins. We can start with one contained piece of work before committing to a larger project.
Good technical support does more than produce drawings. It gives you greater capacity to deliver, greater confidence in the detail and stronger control over what is built.
How we work
Start with the project in front of you.
You do not need to prepare a formal brief or change the way your studio works before we talk.
Show me the project
You explain the design, what has already been completed, where you need help and when the work is required.
Agree the responsibility
We define the models, drawings, visualisations or technical development I will take responsibility for, together with the deadline, fee and revision arrangements.
I get on with the work
I work within your design intent and agreed standards, raising questions where something needs resolving rather than making silent assumptions.
Deliver and review
The agreed work is delivered completely and when promised. After the first project, we can decide whether continuing the relationship would be useful.
As I learn your standards and preferred way of working, the process becomes easier and less needs to come back to you.
